Graduate
The scholarship provides financial support for tuition fees at
Sungkyunkwan University and a stipend. The scholarship awardees
will be provided with a monthly stipend 650,000 Korean won for Master and Ph.D. programs throughout their study
(including health insurance fee, starting from Sep, 2004). Additional stipend might be provided
depending on the situation and duration. Stipend will be given to
the individual students monthly from the administration office.
Therefore, it is required to make two bank accounts for office and
personal use. Stipend will be transferred to the personal account.
No registration fee is charged.
Undergraduate
Fees and Expenses
All students must pay the tuition fees and all other charges to
the University. Various and generous scholarship programs are offered
for medical students. Students who achieved a score in the top 1
percentile or above in the National Scholastic Aptitude Test obtain
a scholarship for the full 6 years of medical school.
The scholarship comes from a special fund generously donated by
the Samsung Business Group. In fact, all current medical students
have met the criteria and have received the scholarship in full.
Financial information and Financial Assistance(scholarships)
Sungkyunkwan University provides scholarship funds to the medical
college for the development of excellent medical scholars. Since
Sungkyunkwan Medical College was first founded in 1997, the Twae-Gae
scholarship has been awarded to students who have achieved the highest
overall score in the entrance evaluation, while the Samsung Scholarship
was awarded to students whose college entrance exam scores were
within the one percentile. In 1999, as shown in table 2-2, scholarships
of 350 million won were awarded in the first semester and 330 million
won in the second semester. Respectively, 99.1% and 96.6% of the
medical students were awarded the scholarship and the average award
per student was 3 million won. The total scholarship award came
out to be 671,082,600 won.
