Requirements

The applicant should have a bachelor or master degree in biomedical science or a related research area such as biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, medicine, pharmacy, crystallography or chemistry. Applicants should have a good command of Korean or English. The applicant is requested to show his/her evidence of English Language Proficiency. TOEFL or TOEIC score (CBT 213 or higher in TOEFL, 800 or higher in TOEIC is prefereed) are recommended.

Interested applicants please send a CV, a self-describing letter (including research interest and future plan), any evidence of English Language Proficiency and official record or mark sheet for undergraduate courses to below address by January 21, 2001. Personal interview will be followed for the students selected in the paper work. English ability might be tested for those who cannot provide the evidence of English Language Proficiency.   • Applicants for Master-PhD programs
    - Application Form, University or College Graduation Certificate or Proof for Expected Graduation, Undergraduate Academic Record, and research plan.

  • Applicants for Ph.D Program
    - Application Form, Master's Degree Award or Proof for Expected Master's Degree Award, Undergraduate & Graduate Academic Records, and research plan.

  • In addition to the documents listed above, TOEFL Score (›CBT213) for non-English speaking students and the Recommendation letters from at least two professors or research supervisors of the current or graduating university, should be submitted to the admission committee.

Application Dead lines

Application deadline is the end of January for the fall semester (starting on September). There will be no admission process for the spring semester. The students, who are willing to apply, are strongly recommended to submit their application package as soon as possible before the application due date. The admission approval will be notified no later than 30 days before the start of each semester

b. Interview

Personal interview (by telephone) will be followed for the students selected in the paper work. English ability might be tested for those who cannot provide the evidence of English Language Proficiency.

c. Admission Appraisal

Admission is appraised by the Admission Committee after the receipt of the required documents specified above and the interview.
Applicants, once accepted, must send below documents (application materials) for further process until one week before the May.

  1. Graduation certificate: two copies, written in English, issued by the school
    - Master course or Master-PhD continuing program applicant: bachelor degree certificate
    - Ph. D course applicant: bachelor and master degree certificates
  2. Official academic records (transcripts or mark sheet): two copies, written in English, issued by the school
    - Master course applicant: undergraduate course
    - Ph. D course applicant: undergraduate and master courses
  3. Two photo-copies of your passport (showing the passport number and your photo)
  4. Six photos (size : 4 x 5 cm)

d. Visas

We will send the official invitation letter, standard admission permit and the admission certificate to you until the first of July. Please apply the visa to the Korean Embassy or the Korean Consul in your corresponding foreign country. Table 1 summarizes the time-table for getting the admission and Visa. As you see in the table, we need to send all application materials (including yours) to the administration office by the first of May. So please make sure that above materials arrive here at least one week before the first of May. New students are recommended to arrive Korea a few days before a new semester starts (the first of September) to settle down, and discuss the arrival plan with your advisory professor.
